My approach

There is a story between the lines.

I believe there is more to mental wellness than a diagnosis, a symptom checklist, or a prescription. Wellness isn’t simply about feeling better. It’s about feeling more like yourself.

My philosophy

The experiences, relationships, patterns, values and aspirations that shape how we feel and move through the world. That is the story I listen for.

My approach begins by looking beyond the obvious: the mind and body, the past and present, the challenges and strengths, and the person you are becoming. Through thoughtful care, real connection and personalized treatment, I help bring how you feel and how you live closer to what matters most to you.

Six ideas behind my care

What guides every visit.

These are the ideas I practice by, and the ones I teach.

  1. See the whole person.

A diagnosis is important, but it is only one part of someone’s story.

  2. Listen beneath the symptoms.

Symptoms are information. Understanding what lies beneath them allows care to become more individualized and meaningful.

  3. Honor the mind-body connection.

Mental wellness doesn’t exist in isolation from sleep, hormones, nutrition, stress, relationships, movement, and physical health.

  4. Create alignment.

The goal isn’t simply symptom reduction. It’s helping your inner world and outer life feel more congruent with who you are and what you value.

  5. Make space for becoming.

People change. Care should support not only who you have been, but who you are becoming.

  6. Treat with intention.

Medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle, education, and collaboration should each have a purpose, and work together rather than in silos.

The Six-Pillar Inventory

Six pillars that support your mind.

Sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, connection and substances are levers, not lifestyle suggestions. Where each one sits today often tells me more than any single symptom.

  • Pillar 01

    Restorative sleep

When did you last sleep through the night for a full week? When do you fall asleep, wake, and get out of bed?

  • Pillar 02

    Nutrition

What did you eat yesterday, in order? Coffee counts. Skipped meals count.

  • Pillar 03

    Movement

What does your body do in a typical week? Walking, lifting, classes, sport, or nothing at all.

  • Pillar 04

    Stress physiology

Where in your body do you carry stress, and what do you reach for to settle it?

  • Pillar 05

    Connection

Who knows what is actually going on with you right now? How often do you see them?

  • Pillar 06

    Substances

Alcohol, caffeine, cannabis, nicotine, stimulants. What do you reach for, when, and how do you feel afterward?

You’ll complete the inventory privately in your secure patient portal before your first visit. Then we go through it together.
